August is the month for parties, for the fresh and lush green summer days full of ocean’s flavor. However, August in Phu Quoc is somehow different from that. The beautiful island will start stepping in rainny period. The sky, the sea’s surface are glittering and wet. Summer there is stranger by some means.

August in Phu Quoc is beautiful in such a strange way that not so many people can feel and like it. But it is enough for wanderers finding their own spaces. The sky is not so high, the cloud is not really white, everything seems to be cover with water and looks wet. However, when the rain is gone, the scenery are likely washed, Phu Quoc at this moment is purely blue and clean. The blue is fragile and flawless that only just by the touch of the eyes, people can completely fall for it.

People call Phu Quoc the pearl island. Amidst the vast and lonely ocean, the island still appears lively and alluring like a real paradise. Every side is surrounded by the vigorous greenness. The nature and human are almost harmonized. During the rainy days in August, Phu Quoc is still shining and full of warm sunlight at some moments.
If you wander around Phu Quoc in August, you will see the most simplicity in Phu Quoc. That is the normal life of the natives here. No bustle and hustle and not so many tourists. Phu Quoc during those days is simple as its characteristic.
On the beach, men sometimes gather and grill sardine, which send out a really good smell. The fishes which have just been caught are fresh. After being cleaned, the fishes are processed right on the beach. They also bring some fermented wine. They eat and drink and chat eagerly together. Smiles, laughs are always appeared on their happy faces. This simple joy even make people passing by also feel happy as well.
The happiest ones are maybe kids since people are not so busy with tourists and they can do what they want and enjoyably play around. They can have dinners with parents more often.
The kindness and gentleness of
Phu Quoc on normal days is peaceful and simple. During the rainy August, Phu Quoc is even quitter. Phu Quoc in August is maybe more suitable for girls who want to hide the busy city for a while and travel alone, boys who get bored of daily working or families need a peaceful place for being together after the busy times.
